Thunderstorms, Rain and Flooding all can cause water damage to your home in Medina County

A thunderstorm is a storm that produces lightning and thunder. They also usually have gusty winds, heavy rain and sometimes hail.
Thunderstorms usually happen in the spring and summer months, though they can occur all year and at all hours of the day. Usually storms build up and happen during the afternoon and evening hours.
The heavy rain that accompanies a thunderstorm can also cause flooding. Floods usually result from the heavy rain and melting snow over several days and cause rivers to rise and go over banks.
Sometimes a thunderstorm can produce intense rainfall and a flash flood can occur with no warning. This type of flood can be one of the most dangerous. When dry creeks or river beds fill with water in a short amount of time, the floodwater flows faster and can be destructive. Flash flood water can sweep a car away which is why it is said, “Turn around, don’t drown.”
