Hurricane winds & rain can reach Medina, OH
9/2/2020 (Permalink)
This is the season for Tropical Storms and Hurricanes in the coastal states. They can be unpredictable and intensify or change direction at any time. Storm surge and waves can cause much of the damage. During a hurricane, torrential winds, rain and flooding usually occur in the areas where the hurricane comes thru.
Though Ohio is not at high risk for these types of disasters as many of the coastal states, Hurricane winds and rain can also reach as far north as Ohio, producing tornadoes and severe thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms can also produce dangerous lightening and hail which can damage your home, vehicles and property. Lightening can also hit your home or property and start a fire.
Heavy rain can cause flooding to your home or business or even flash flooding can occur. Flash flooding, defined as a rapid rise in water levels, can occur quickly due to intense rainfall which can also damage your home or business.
If you have water or fire damage caused by a storm, call SERVPRO of Medina/Gateway/Western Lake County at 800-933-7179 for your fire and water mitigation needs.
